Two boys, ages 10 and 16, are dead after a tractor crashed into a rural ditch in southwestern Saskatchewan.

RCMP were called to the collision near the hamlet of Ravenscrag shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday.

The boys, both from the area, were travelling on a gravel road in a four-wheel-drive tractor towing a baler. The tractor left the road as it travelled east down a hill, according to an RCMP media release. It hit a very steep and rough ditch before entering a ravine.

Both boys were ejected from the tractor during the crash. They were found deceased at the scene.

Their names have yet to be released.

An RCMP Traffic Analyst was still on scene, investigating the collision, as of Thursday afternoon.

Ravenscrag is located about 55 kilometres south of Maple Creek.
