Two people are facing a string of charges after a vehicle crashed during a high-speed pursuit in Regina.

RCMP received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle driving around Balgonie, just east of Regina, around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Officers spotted a vehicle speeding from a driveway toward another vehicle. One of the two vehicles sped away and police began pursuing it south on Highway 346.

The vehicle narrowly missed another police car that was attempting to block the highway before heading west on the Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP alerted Regina police that the vehicle was heading toward the city.

The vehicle exited onto the Ring Road heading north. The vehicle then attempted to exit onto Winnipeg Street when it crashed into a barricade, ending the pursuit.

The driver fled the scene and was arrested a short distance away. The passenger in the vehicle was also taken into custody.

A 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman from Regina are facing several charges in the incident. The suspects' names have not been released.
