Four people were taken to hospital after a collision involving three vehicles in east-central Saskatchewan on Monday night.

Police and emergency crews responded to the crash on Highway 10 near Otthon, Sask., southwest of Yorkton, around 7:30 p.m.

RCMP say a 24-year-old man driving a northbound Toyota RAV4 was airlifted to hospital in Regina by STARS with what were described as serious injuries.

The 48-year-old male driver of a Chrysler Sebring and a 41-year-old female passenger in the car were both transported by EMS to hospital in Yorkton. The passenger was later airlifted to hospital in Regina.

The 21-year-old female driver of a Hyundai Sonata was also taken to hospital in Yorkton.

Highway 10 was closed near the scene until early Tuesday morning while Mounties investigated.

RCMP initially said four vehicles were involved in the collision, but they have since determined there were only three.
