Regina police have confirmed the man found dead in the 2100 block of Cornwall Street on Saturday night is the victim of a homicide.

Officers were called to the area around 11:30 p.m. after a call about an injured man. Police say EMS pronounced 39-year-old Blaine Katz dead at the scene. The forensic identification unit and the coroner were also called to assist with the investigation.

Police arrested two men early Sunday morning. Forty-four-year-old Gerald McDormand of Regina and 39-year-old Steven Saint Pierre of Moose Jaw have been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death. Both men made their first court appearances on Monday morning.
