Two people are facing charges following a prescription drug bust in Regina.

Over the past month, police had been investigating numerous thefts from a pharmacy in the 4100 block of Albert Street.

Police later identified a suspect and as part of the investigation, officers pulled over a vehicle seen leaving the store around 6 a.m. Saturday.

The driver of the vehicle, a 46-year-old man, was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle turned up more than 600 prescription pills, including morphine, hydromorphone and methamphetamine.

Investigators got a search warrant for the suspect’s home in the 2900 block of Queen Street, where they found 350 more pills, including diazepam, lorazepam, Dilantin and cyclobenzaprine.

Two stolen motorcycles and small quantities of marijuana and cannabis resin were also seized in the search.

Kenneth Darin Orchin, 46, has been charged with trafficking morphine and hydromorphone, possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and codeine, theft over $5,000, and three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Also charged is 42-year-old Stacey Ann Orchin of Regina, who faces possession of marijuana and codeine and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Both accused were scheduled to make their first court appearance Monday morning.
