A car rear-ended a van on Friday evening on Highway #16, about five kilometers west of Grand Coulee. The van was travelling east-bound slowly with its hazard lights flashing, when it was rear-ended by the small car. The van was driven off the highway and fell onto its side in the ditch.

An elderly couple from Winnipeg was in the van; they were treated on-site by EMS crews and determined to have no injuries.

The driver of the car was transported to Regina General Hospital with undetermined injuries.

RCMP responded to the crash just before 6:00 p.m., and determined the roads and visibility were in good condition. Because of the clear driving conditions, a charge of Driving without Due Care and Attention will be pursued against the driver of the car.
