Alex Hall is back with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The defensive end re-signed with the CFL club Wednesday after spending last season on the Carolina Panthers' practice roster.

The six-foot-six, 246-pound Hall ended the 2013 CFL season with Saskatchewan after being acquired from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Hall played 18 regular-season games that year -- 14 with the Bombers, four with the Riders -- and was second in the CFL with 15 sacks while adding 40 tackles, five forced fumbles, and four tackles for loss.

He added six tackles in three playoff games and helped the Riders capture the Grey Cup.

Saskatchewan also signed safety Keenan MacDougall, linebacker Joash Geese, offensive lineman Dan Clark and fullback Scott McHenry, all Canadian free agents.

The six-foot-two, 219-pound MacDougall, a Saskatoon native, spent the last three seasons with Calgary. The 24-year-old had 21 special-teams tackles last season in helping the Stampeders capture the Grey Cup.

The five-foot-11, 219-pound Geese is entering his sixth CFL season but joins the Riders after spending two years with the Edmonton Eskimos. The Montreal native played his first three seasons in B.C., earning a Grey Cup ring with the Lions in 2011.

The six-foot-two, 310-pound Clark returns for a fourth season with Saskatchewan. The 26-year-old Regina native appeared in 16 games last year, seeing action at guard and centre, and also had a one yard TD catch.

Clark was a member of the Riders' 2013 Grey Cup-winning team.

McHenry enters his sixth CFL season and fifth with Saskatchewan. The 27-year-old Saskatoon native was originally taken in the fourth round, No. 32 overall, by Calgary in the 2009 Canadian draft and joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2010 before joining the Riders in August 2011.

He was also with the Riders for the '13 Grey Cup title win.

Saskatchewan released international receiver Brett Swain.
