A Western Hockey League player is facing criminal charges after a car crash that killed an 18-year-old Regina woman.

The 17-year-old, who can't be identified, is facing several charges stemming from the April 30 accident on the Prairies.

RCMP have said that alcohol and speed were possible factors in the crash that happened when a vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest in a ditch.

The teen will appear in court June 9.
