With just over a week still to go, the City of Regina says this is already the worst August on record for water main breaks.

There are 55 breaks currently being worked on by repair crews, with an average of seven new breaks being reported every day.

With so many breaks happening at one time, the city has had to prioritize which leaks get fixed first.

Homes that have been left without running water are prioritized highest.

The city has also been pulling crews off of other summer construction projects to help fix the breaks, so those projects are now falling behind schedule.
