Regina city council will discuss the newest budget for the restoration of the Glockenspiel in Victoria Park at the annual city council meeting tonight.

The Glockenspiel was originally placed in Victoria Park in 1985, and taken down in 2010 to begin restoration and stored in a storage yard owned by the city.

The Regina German Club has been working with the city on a budget to renovate the Glockenspiel. It was originally estimated to cost the city $500,000 to restore the clock, but the Regina German Club says a new quote brings it in at $350,000.

If it the budget for the new clock is passed, it will be added to the 2018 capital budget.

Council is also set to decide on the approval of the U-Pass program for the SIIT over a three year period, and the sale of the old STC building to the city.
