Regina police have charged a youth after bear spray was released in a business on Rochdale Boulevard.

Officers were called to a business in the 6200 block of Rochdale Boulevard around 11:15 a.m. Saturday after reports of people coughing from some fumes in the air. The Regina Fire Department and EMS also responded to the call. Police say there were about 30 people in the business at the time.

Police say three youths had left the business just before the incident occurred. Police found them and say they released bear spray in the bathroom of the business.

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, committing mischief and administering a noxious thing. He cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and has been released with a court date of Oct. 30, 2017.
