Three former SaskTel managers convicted of fraud and theft have been sentenced to jail time and ordered to pay thousands in restitution.

On Friday, Joan Yasinowski, Barry Richardson and Dan Crites were all sentenced to 18 months in prison. They were also ordered to pay restitution of over $33,000 each to SaskTel.

A jury found the three former managers guilty of two counts each of fraud over $5,000 last December.

Yasinowski, Richardson and Crites were also all originally charged with theft over $5,000, but the jury found them guilty of theft under $5,000.

The trio was accused of bilking SaskTel out of more than $100,000 through a company called “Green Really Works,” which overcharged SaskTel for assembling digital TV set-top boxes.

The trial heard the three bought golf clubs, bicycles and signed apparel on SaskTel’s dime, and claimed the merchandise was for promotional use.
