A Melville man charged with killing his brother and stabbing his mother has been deemed mentally unfit to stand trial.

Fifty-five-year-old Gary Ross has been ordered to go to a psychiatric hospital in North Battleford, where he will be re-evaluated every two years.

Last July, 60-year-old Richard Ross was fatally stabbed and his 86-year-old mother suffered a punctured lung after they were attacked in Melville.

Gary Ross was facing charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
