A full-scale emergency exercise simulating an aircraft accident near the main runway is being held at the Regina International Airport on Wednesday morning.
Between 9 a.m. and noon, this exercise involving more than 150 people will test the airport and its local partners’ emergency response plans.
“This event will simulate a major disaster on airport property and holding the exercise helps us to continually improve procedures,” said James Bogusz, president and CEO of the Regina Airport Authority (RAA).
Other organizations involved in the simulation include Regina Fire and Protective Services, Regina Police Service, city officials and Public Safety Canada.
The RAA has to hold a full-scale exercise every four years to test their emergency response plans.
