An Alberta-based company has been fined more than $18,000 in the death of a worker in southeastern Saskatchewan.

IROC Energy Services Corp. pleaded guilty to two charges under Saskatchewan’s Occupational Health and Safety Act in Regina provincial court last week.

In December 2009, a worker was killed when he was crushed under a drilling platform near Kisbey.

Three other charges were stayed against the company, which operates as Eagle Well Servicing.
