A billionaire originally from Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, has been indicted along with three others Canadians after the sports gambling site Bodog was shut down.
Bodog founder Calvin Ayre has been charged with illegal gambling by U.S. federal prosecutors.
Ayre posted a statement on his website yesterday saying that his company did not take bets in the U.S, where financial transactions involving online gambling service providers are illegal.
Ayre and the others could face up to five years in prison.
