The 25th anniversary of a tragic bus crash that claimed the lives of four WHL players was marked in Regina on Friday night.

On Dec. 30, 1986, the Swift Current Broncos team bus crashed while travelling to a game in Regina against the Pats.

Four Broncos players – Trent Kresse, Chris Mantyka, Brent Ruff and Scott Kruger – died in the crash.

The ceremony at the Brandt Centre included former players from both the 1986-87 Broncos and Pats.

Tim Tisdale, a former Bronco who was on the bus that fateful night, took part in the ceremony. Former WHL player Darren McKechnie represented the Pats.
