The conflict of interest commissioner will not be conducting an inquiry into Bill Boyd's land dealings with the Global Transportation Hub.

The New Democrats called for an inquiry on Thursday, Boyd's final day as an MLA. He officially retires on Friday.

Conflict of Interest Commissioner Ron Barclay says the opposition did not present reasonable and probable grounds for him to review it under the member's conflict of interest act.

In 2016, Barclay ruled that Boyd was not in conflict of interest in regards to a parcel of land that the government needed that had changed ownership several times, driving up the price that the government eventually paid. Barclay said there was no evidence that Boyd had anything to do with that.

An ongoing RCMP investigation into legal matters surrounding GTH land dealings continues.
