Crews respond to blaze at downtown Moose Jaw motel, one person sent to hospital

One person was sent to hospital with fire-related injuries following a blaze at a downtown motel in Moose Jaw on Friday night.

Officers with the Moose Jaw Police Service (MJPS) received a call from the Moose Jaw Fire Department (MJFD) about a structure fire at the Capone’s Hideaway Motel around 11:10 p.m., according to a release from the MJPS.

Fire crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire. One person was taken to hospital by EMS for fire-related injuries, police said.

The MJFD and the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency are investigating the cause around the fire.

No other injuries were reported, police said. 

The MJPS said additional information may be released at a later date.
