Crews are still cleaning up after about 1,000 litres of used engine oil leaked from a tank owned by a local business Sunday in north Regina.

The City of Regina says the oil spilled onto a paved back alley, and an unknown amount leaked into the storm sewer system.

Fire and environmental crews contained the spill, preventing it from entering Wascana Creek.

Officials are investigating and the city is working with Saskatchewan’s environment ministry and Environment Canada.
