Charges of dangerous driving causing death have been laid against a 19-year-old Yorkton man in connection with a fatal collision south of the city last September.

The man, whose name hasn’t been released, is scheduled to make his first court appearance on the charges April 10 in Yorkton.

On Sept. 24, 2016, police and emergency crews responded to a fatal two-vehicle collision on Highway 10 just south of Yorkton.

RCMP say a southbound car with two occupants collided with a northbound car driven by a lone man.

Two people – a 17-year-old boy and 28-year-old man, both from the Yorkton area – died of their injuries.

An 18-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was transported by STARS air ambulance to hospital in Regina.
