Dozens of people gathered in the Regina Cemetery on Sunday afternoon to remember those who have fought in war.

Navy League cadets placed wreaths at the cenotaph as part of the Decoration Day service.

Both British and Canadian flags were placed beside the graves of soldiers.

"To us, Decoration Day is just as important as the 11th of November," said Ian Brown of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Decoration Day was the main Canadian military day of recognition before Remembrance Day was established.
