A man and woman now face numerous drug and weapon charges following a police investigation on Friday.

At approximately 2:45 p.m., Regina police say they saw a vehicle travelling southbound on Broad Street at Eighth Avenue. Officers pulled the vehicle over on the 2200 block of Cornwall Street.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle had warrants as a disqualified driver. He was taken into custody for those traffic warrants. The passenger of the vehicle was also taken into custody.

Police say they searched the vehicle and located substances believed to be cocaine, methamphetamines, steroids, packaging and drug paraphernalia, as well as ammunition, knives, a rifle and a pellet gun. Officers say they also seized money that they believe to be associated with drug trafficking.

Dejan Vuckovic, 45, is facing a total of 12 charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking, carrying a concealed and prohibited device, carrying a concealed and prohibited device, carless use of a firearm, two charges of possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited device in a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm obtained by crime.

Shylia Dezarae Dawn Cadotte, 24, is facing charges of possession of property obtained by crime and three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Both will make their first court appearance Tuesday.
