The trial for two people charged with the death of a man back in 2016 is set to get underway today.

The body of Ryan Sugar, 31, was found in a burnt out house on the 1500 block of McTavish Street on Oct. 11, 2016, almost a week after the house burned on Oct. 5.

While police never issued a missing persons release for Sugar, social media posts by family members at the time showed that they did not know his whereabouts between the time of the fire and the time his body was discovered.

Two months after Sugar’s body was found, police charged three people with first-degree murder in connection with his death.

The trial for two of those people, Colinda Hotomani and Gregory Wolfe is scheduled to start today.
