Five youths are facing multiple charges after stealing a truck from a home in east Regina.

Officers were called to a home in the 2600 block of Truesdale Drive around 2:10 a.m. Wednesday. Police say a Ford F-150 truck was stolen from the home’s driveway, damaging another vehicle, the property and the home. Police found the vehicle on Eastgate Drive and deployed a spike belt, but the truck didn’t stop. The vehicle was found empty in the 1500 block of Rae Street. The Canine Unit tracked five suspects — one girl and four boys.

Charges have been laid against the five youths, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and possession of property obtained by crime.

They appeared in Youth Court on Wednesday afternoon.
