Freezing rain has made roads slick across southern Saskatchewan.

In addition to the slippery conditions, RCMP are reporting blowing snow and near-zero visibility on several highways, including sections of the Trans-Canada Highway.

Mounties say weather and road conditions may have been factors in a two-vehicle collision Monday morning on Highway 13, about 10 kilometres east of Weyburn. Five people were injured in the crash.

The provincial Highway Hotline says travel is not recommended on some highways in the Saskatoon and North Battleford areas.

Drivers are being advised to slow down and to avoid making any sudden or abrupt maneuvers.
