There were no serious injuries after a semi was hit by a freight train in Weyburn.
RCMP say the semi was hauling a load of sand Wednesday when it was struck by an eastbound train and pushed down the tracks for nearly half a kilometre.
The driver, a 44-year-old man from Yellow Grass, escaped with only minor injuries. He reportedly told police that he didn't see the train coming.
Similar collisions have happened in the past at the crossing, located on Queen Street. City officials say they have been aware of the problem for several years, but there are no formal plans for improvements.
