The Saskatchewan Roughriders have unveiled the new uniforms they will sport this season.
The new Adidas jersey features the team’s traditional green and white colours. The black trim has been removed from the jersey and the numbers to give it a clean and simple look, the Riders said in a news release.
“The new Saskatchewan wordmark is big and bold and proudly displays our home province,” the team said in the release.
The pants have four stripes on the left side, each representing a Rider Grey Cup victory. Both the logo on the back and the shoulder numbers have been eliminated to clean up the overall look of the jersey and add to the modern design, the Riders said.
This year’s jersey also includes the CFL’s new logo and an updated Rider logo. A larger helmet logo with a “liquid metal” background caps off the new look.
Adidas has also updated the Riders’ retro jersey with the addition of wider shoulder stripes with the retro logo on the sleeve and the elimination of shoulder numbers.
