A home in Pilot Butte was completely destroyed after a fire broke out on Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the blaze near the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Butte Street around 3:45 p.m. Fire officials say the fire was already over the roof by the time crews arrived.

Pilot Butte Fire Chief Kevin Dell says investigators are looking into the cause, but it will be difficult to determine what started the blaze.

“When we got the call, it was already a fully engulfed building,” he said Sunday. “So to investigate it would be extremely difficult or impossible with the damage to the house.”

No one was injured in the fire. Neighbours say the homeowners were at a baseball game when the fire broke out. A GoFundMe page is collecting donations for the family.
