RCMP in Saskatchewan say human remains have been found at the scene of a house fire on the Witchekan Lake First Nation.

An autopsy has been ordered to determine if the remains are those of a child who is still missing after the blaze.

Mounties said the home was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived early Sunday morning.

Seven people managed to escape the fire, and several of them were treated for burns and smoke inhalation in hospital.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Witchekan First Nation is located about 130 kilometres west of Prince Albert.
