Hundreds gathered at the First Nations University of Canada in Regina to remember the country’s missing and murdered aboriginal women.
They were calling on the federal government to develop a national strategy to stop violence against aboriginal women.
The Sisters in Spirit vigil was one of many that were held across the nation Thursday night.
Organizers say they hope such events will raise public awareness.
