An inquest has begun into the falling death of a 17-year-old girl at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina.
Jaidan Lynn Slaferek died after she fell 12 metres from a catwalk during an event at the centre in January 2012.
Regina police said Slaferek had been with two men when they got into an area that was not open to the public.
As part of the inquest, a coroners’ jury of five women and one man will visit the scene of the accident Monday afternoon.
Saskatoon lawyer Brent Gough will preside over the five-day inquest, which is scheduled to hear from about 15 witnesses.
The jury will make recommendations on how similar tragedies could be prevented.
