REGINA -- #JustCurious Is there a building height maximum in Regina? Here’s the answer:

Today’s curiosity focuses on Regina’s scenic city skyline. Yvonne had heard there was a limit to building heights and was #JustCurious if that was true.

The National Building Code doesn’t place a limit on the number of floors a Regina business can have, nor does it regulate the height. The city says their zoning bylaw does not regulate the number of floors either but it does regulate the height of the building depending on the zoning district.

For instance, under the current bylaw, a low density residential area would have a maximum height of 11 metres. Downtown, under that same bylaw, in most areas, has no maximum height, under conditions that would have to be cleared by the city and a proposed developer.
