Brendan Sugar, the man accused in a drunk driving crash that killed a young mother, has been released on bail.

Sugar, 28, appeared in court on Friday morning. The judge set his bail at $1,000 with multiple conditions, including no driving or alcohol.

Adrienne Daigneault, was killed early Saturday morning after the car she was a passenger in was rear-ended at a red light on Albert Street and 25 Ave by an SUV that was travelling at a high rate of speed.

Daigneault was killed at the scene, the driver of the car was treated for minor injuries.

Sugar was arrested after the crash, and charged with impaired driving causing death. During a court appearance on Tuesday, the judge asked that Sugar not be released because of the seriousness of the charges.

Daigneault leaves behind a fiancé, and a young son.

Sugar is scheduled to appear in court again on Nov. 3.
