A 29-year-old man is in serious condition in hospital after he was assaulted in Nipawin.

Just after 5 a.m. Monday, RCMP were called to a home in the community, where they found a man with severe head injuries. He was transported to Nipawin Hospital before being airlifted to Saskatoon.

The injuries are reported to be life-threatening, according to RCMP.

Nathan Pelly, 19, of Nipawin has been charged with attempted murder and break and enter with intent to attempt murder. He is scheduled to appear in Nipawin provincial court Wednesday.

Three other people — 34-year-old Cynthia Kitchemonia and 40-year-old William Bignell, both from Kamsack, and 30-year-old Magnus Kitchemonia of Nipawin — each face charges of aggravated assault and break, enter and commit aggravated assault. They're scheduled to appear in court this week.
