A 22-year-old man is in a Regina hospital after he was shot in the leg at a home in the city early Monday morning.

Just after 6 a.m., police were contacted by an unknown female caller who said someone had been shot at a house in the 900 block of Argyle Street.

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg inside the home. He was transported to hospital by EMS.

Police searched the house and surrounding area but did not recover any guns. Officers also asked residents in the area if they saw or heard anything unusual.

The victim was not able to provide much information to investigators at the time, but at this point, police do not believe there is an elevated risk to the public.

Anyone with information that could help in the investigation is asked to contact Regina police or Crime Stoppers.
