A man has been taken into custody after a standoff just east of downtown on Thursday.

Police say they were dispatched to an address in the 1700 block of Quebec Street for a report of a male with a firearm around 5 p.m. Thursday.

The crisis negotiation team was brought in, and after a short while, the man surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.

Police did not find any guns in the home.

Traffic was restricted near the scene while the standoff was going on, but has now returned to normal.

Police have not released any information about charges.
