Man who robbed 5 Sask. Tim Hortons restaurants, 12 in Alberta, arrested
A 25-year-old man from Medicine Hat who robbed a dozen Tim Hortons locations in Alberta and five more in Saskatchewan has been arrested, according to RCMP.
In an update published Wednesday afternoon, RCMP reported that officers finally caught up with the suspect after a five-month investigation into cross-jurisdictional break and enters.
Between June and October of 2024 – 12 separate break and enters were reported in Alberta, believed to have been perpetrated by the same suspect.
They included Brooks, High River, Hanna, Vermilion, Rocky Mountain House, Rocky View County, Strathmore, Drayton Valley, Didsbury, Stettler, and two in Wetaskiwin.
Additionally, there were five Saskatchewan locations affected. They included Tim Horton’s in Maple Creek, Kindersley, Swift Current, Saskatoon and Indian Head.
Through an investigation involving both Alberta and Saskatchewan RCMP – police tracked the suspect to a hotel in the White City area where he was arrested.
A search warrant was executed on the suspect’s hotel room as well as his vehicle and apartment in Medicine Hat, which led to the seizure of a quantity of cash, tools and firearms.
The accused faces seven charges in Saskatchewan and an additional 31 charges in Alberta.
He was remanded and appeared in court in Regina on Wednesday.
