Three Regina men are facing charges stemming from a methamphetamine lab that was discovered at an abandoned property north of the city more than two years ago.

RCMP began investigating in May 2013 after receiving a report from a person who had found unusual containers and materials at an abandoned homestead near Strasbourg.

Mounties, fire, EMS and the Ministry of Environment conducted an extensive on-site investigation and cleanup, which took days to complete.

Investigators seized materials known to be used in the production of illicit drugs, and confirmed the presence of a meth lab at the site.

Further investigation by the RCMP Organized Crime Unit South resulted in the arrest of three men, all from Regina.

Tyler William Young, 32, Bradley Wesley Oxby, 35, and Scott Riley Pring, 32, each face several charges, including conspiracy to produce methamphetamine, conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess proceeds of crime. They also face charges of producing and trafficking methamphetamine.

All three were scheduled to appear in Regina provincial court Friday morning.

Young was previously arrested and charged following a 14-month fraud investigation that began in November 2012. Mounties have said investigators were able to prevent a $10-million fraudulent investment deal.

Information on how the two investigations are connected will be presented as evidence in court, RCMP said. As many as 18 RCMP investigators worked on the case at a time, including three officers who were dedicated to the investigation since it was launched.

RCMP have scheduled a media availability at 2 p.m. in Regina to discuss the drug bust.
