A family cat died but a mother and her young child managed to escape a house fire in northwest Regina.
Crews were called to the home in the 100 block of Marshall Crescent shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.
Officials say it appears the fire broke out in a basement laundry area and burned through the floor.
Damage to the house was extensive. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
