Luke Simard
Luke Simard is a video journalist for CTV News Regina.
Born in Kingston Ontario, Luke moved to Saskatchewan in 2021 to pursue broadcast journalism.
With a passion for sports, Luke knew he wanted to pursue broadcasting from a young age.
In 2020 he graduated from the Centennial College’s Sports Journalism program in Toronto and began his career working for the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League as their Media Relations Manager before joining CTV News Barrie operations team.
During his brief stint at CTV Barrie, Luke learned a variety of skills including camera shooting, playback editing, technical directing and directing.
Most recently, he was a video journalist at CTV Yorkton before joining the CTV News Regina team in the same role.
Luke considers himself a generalist when it comes to reporting, however he particularly enjoys finding the human stories within sports.
When he is not reporting you can find Luke doing a variety of outdoor activities including hiking, tennis and playing hockey
