The Regina Planning Commission has endorsed an application for a strip club in Regina.

The proposed adult entertainment establishment would be located at 1047 Park Street in the former Whiskey Saloon.

The location complies with the city’s zoning bylaw, which says strip clubs must be at least 182.88 metres or 600 feet away from homes, schools and parks.

It’s the first application the city has received since new provincial regulations took effect last January. The new rules allow alcohol to be served during stripteases and wet clothing contests at licenced establishments.

The application will now go to city council for a final vote on Jan. 26.
