Police received a call about a man standing at the intersection of Main Street North and Manitoba Street pointing a hand gun at the public just after 3:00 p.m. According to police, the man did not respond to officer commands and pointed the gun at police. Police say a witness who knew the man said the gun was a BB gun. Police were able to take the man into custody and no one was injured.

Police say the incident also caused a three-car accident as people tried to leave the area. No one was injured in the accident.

The man remains in custody and is facing several weapons-related charges. The investigation is ongoing and police do not know why the man was using the weapon.

Main Street is now open to the public.
