RCMP in Swift Current have charged two B.C. men after officers seized nearly 40 kilograms of marijuana from a semi-trailer on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Mounties say the rig was headed from B.C. to Ontario last Friday when police pulled it over west of Swift Current to check documents.

A search of the trailer turned up five large garbage bags filled with marijuana. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $180,000.

The driver and a passenger of the semi-trailer were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Borislav Vucinovic, 34, and 31-year-old Bojan Jajalo, both from Burnaby, B.C. were released from custody and are scheduled to make their next court appearance June 18.
