Saskatchewan farmers put their skills to use for charity on Saturday driving their combines for Children’s Camps International to set a new world record.

The numbers for most combines harvesting simultaneously on the same field have now been submitted, and Saskatchewan holds the record with 249. The previous record was just set two months ago in Ireland, where they had 208 combines.

The combines harvested two quarter sections of Brent Baerg’s land near Dalmeny. “They’re all welcome back next year,” Baerg said.

Children’s Camps International a faith-based organization that sponsors camps for children in countries like India, Kenya, and Cuba.

The goal was to raise enough money to send 50,000 kids to camp, but organizers say donations far exceeded their expectations.
