Ten Saskatchewan residents are facing charges following a multi-agency investigation targeting online child predators.

In all, 21 people were arrested during Operation Snapshot. They face charges that include indecent exposure, invitation to sexual touching and Internet luring, as well as accessing, possessing and making child pornography.

The investigation, led by the Canadian Police Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, also resulted in the rescue of one child in Saskatoon.

Authorities found hundreds of thousands of images on more than 100 computers and hard drives, and 1,000 disks.

So far, the 13 investigations in Saskatchewan have resulted in charges against the following people:

• Kelvin Burns, 43, Regina – Possession of child pornography and making child pornography available

• (Name withheld to protect identity of victim), 37, Saskatoon – Sexual assault, sexual interference, indecent exposure, possession of child pornography and making child pornography available

• Sean Ward, 59, Saskatoon – Possession of child pornography

• Anthony Boyle, 24, Saskatoon – Possession of child pornography

• Nicholas Boyle, 20, Saskatoon – Possession of child pornography

• Curtis Juhnke, 27, Saskatoon – Possession of child pornography and making child pornography available

• Brandon McKay, 21, Prince Albert – Possession of child pornography and making child pornography available

• Sheldon Desmonie, 41, Prince Albert – Possession of child pornography and making child pornography available

• Daryl Kroeker, 42, Swift Current – Possession of child pornography and making child pornography available

• (Youth), 17, Biggar – Possession of child pornography and making child pornography available

Launched in June, Operation Snapshot targeted high-risk offenders possessing and distributing images of child sexual abuse via peer-to-peer file sharing networks.

The investigation included police from Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.
