Mechanical problems forced a passenger jet to make an emergency landing Tuesday afternoon in Regina.

The Boeing 737 was bound for Calgary from Winnipeg with 127 passengers on board when unknown mechanical problems created a bad smell in the cabin.

The pilot diverted the flight to the Regina airport and safely landed the plane.

WestJet says it has rebooked most of the passengers on a later flight, with the remainder travelling Wednesday morning.
