The Saskatchewan government wants to know who is interested in popping the cork on three new private liquor stores.

The province has issued a request for proposals outlining the application process and operating details for the stores.

The province says the outlets -- two in Saskatoon and one in Regina -- will meet demand in growing neighbourhoods.

But proposals aren't limited to those districts and applicants can suggest their own location.

The deadline for submissions is Jan. 30 with a decision expected in late March.

Premier Brad Wall hinted last month that new liquor stores were needed because of population growth, but he was also quick to say existing provincially owned liquor stores would not be privatized.
