A Regina man is facing more than 20 charges, including indecent acts and distributing intimate images without consent.

The charges come after a lengthy investigation into complaints of indecent acts in Regina’s Heritage and Centre Square neighbourhoods. Police say several copies of intimate images were also found stapled to signs in various locations around the city.

The indecent acts allegedly occurred between Nov. 30, 2016 and Jan. 15, 2017.

“The offending behavior, in most of the cases, involved a male approaching a parked car with a female occupant, and exposing his genitals and masturbating,” Regina police said in a news release Tuesday.

“Although investigation began with the first report on November 30, 2016; police were not able to identify a suspect and gather enough evidence to charge an individual until Friday, February 17, 2017.”

Over the course of the investigation, police also discovered 12 images, described as intimate in nature, which had been posted in public places. Most of the images were stapled to signs, and it’s alleged they were posted without the victim’s consent.

A 51-year-old Regina man was arrested without incident. Gregory Todd Stopanski faces 22 charges, including nine counts of committing an indecent act and 12 counts of distributing intimate images without consent.

Stopanski made his first court appearance Tuesday morning.
