Regina man charged with attempted murder in downtown stabbing

A charge of attempted murder has been laid after a stabbing in downtown Regina on Wednesday afternoon.

A charge of attempted murder has been laid after a stabbing in downtown Regina that sent a man to hospital.

Just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 1800 block of Osler Street for a report of a man who had been assaulted with a weapon.

The 29-year-old man suffered stab wounds and was taken to hospital.

Police learned the stabbing occurred during an altercation near the corner of 12th Avenue and Halifax Street.

A 32-year-old man was later arrested at a home in the 1800 block of Halifax Street.

Adam Ryan Sangwais of Regina has been charged with attempted murder. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance May 4.
